About this event

There are few opportunities to talk openly about death, but many of us want to do just that.

Doing so may help us to get things organised and give us conversation starters and thought-provoking ideas, for example to help us discuss our wishes with family and friends. A death café can provide a safe environment to talk about death and dying. But please note it’s not a counselling or support group.

A Death Café [www.deathcafe.com] is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. Death cafés are always offered in an accessible, respectful, and confidential space, with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product, or course of action. Alongside the session are refreshing tea/coffee and cake!

All welcome, free tea/coffee and cake. Venue accessible, toilet not wheelchair accessible.

This session is facilitated by End-of-Life Doula, Paula Smith, with experience of running Death Cafes. She is also a therapeutic councillor.

This event is organised by Unite Community with support from Herbert Strutt Charity and Central England Co-op. We organise community events on social justice and wellbeing topics.
